In December 2022, nearly 200 countries gathered in Montréal and agreed on a series of measures to stop the rapid decline in biodiversity. The urgency is clear: 25% of all species worldwide are at risk of extinction, and in southern Canada, 70% of wetlands have already disappeared. This is especially concerning, as healthy land and oceans are essential for absorbing greenhouse gas emissions.
