BBA Pyrometallurgy Experts Receive Prestigious MetSoc Award
Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec, September 27, 2016 - Three BBA experts received the Pyrometallurgy Best Paper Award from the Metallurgy and Materials Society (MetSoc) at its awards gala. This gala was part of the 2016 Conference of Metallurgists hosted by the International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC2016), which took place in Québec City from September 11 to 15.

Joël Kapusta, François Larouche and Enzo Palumbo received this award for their paper entitled Adoption of High Oxygen Bottom Blowing in Copper Matte Smelting: Why Is It Taking So Long?, which was included in the proceedings at the 2015 Conference of Metallurgists (COM2015).
The Pyrometallurgy section of MetSoc created this award to provide recognition for the best paper on this topic that was published in the CIM Magazine or the Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, or was included in the proceedings for the Conference of Metallurgists from the previous year.
